In these trying times, I know everyone is trying to make a quick buck. Many person have heard about writing for money and so forth, well Squidoo is one of those systems. I'm going to make a quick review on what I think about Squidoo and why I think it is a good system overall.
I have came across articles on Squidoo countless times, but never thought about the writer behind the article. So, I recently signed up to Squidoo to see what the big fuss is all about. Now from the get go, Squidoo started reeling me in more as I go along. Squidoo calls each article/post a Lens. Why? I have no idea. Each lens can help generate money for the writer, which I find very well. I will just list my thoughts and you can comment on what you think.
Good Site Design
The site is generally well laid out, the frontpage is adorned with Featured Lens on the Front, Topics on the right which I find to be simple but effective. The Lens Detail page has a standard Social Like/Share Bar floating on the left, customized content in the middle and ADs, Author Details and Other Lens on the right. Again, simple but effective. What I found unique was the fact that the author had modules inside their content to choose from. At a basic level an author can add a text module, text with large image module, ebay, amazon module, polls and so much more. That was amazing.
Revenue Share
Oh! How this can be the only reason that persons write at Squidoo. Squidoo offers the option to get paid cash (paypal) for Lens or Submit to Charity. That is a such a nice gesture especially with the so much options of Charitable organizations to choose from. I have yet to make money from my Lens so I can't speak about how well they pay but some persons claim to be making up to a $1000
Reward System
I was immediately hooked when I realised that I was given points for doing simple things like Writing my first lens, squidliking my first lens, returning the same day. I was overwhelmed, they sure know to make somebody feel good about themselves. This reward system is good for boosting interactivity on the site, other sites need to take this sort of system into play.
Other things about Squidoo is getting featured on the frontpage and monetizing from Amazon blocks. I can defineitly speak more about this but I will leave it there.
